Welcome to BAHA Anatomy & Physiology:
Important Information! (4607)

Program: Bay Area Homeschool Academy (BAHA) · Anatomy & Physiology (A&P)

Audience: New and returning A&P families

Hello BAHA Anatomy & Physiology Families!

I’m excited to welcome you to A&P! We are going to have a fabulous year learning all about how wonderfully God has orchestrated the human body. This will be my 5th year teaching Anatomy & Physiology, and I’m always enthralled to share everything I know with students. I’m praying for you all and look forward to meeting our new students!

Required Books: Order Now (They Backorder!)

Parents, if you have not purchased the Kaplan Anatomy & Physiology Coloring Book, the Apologia Anatomy & Physiology Textbook, and the Apologia Solutions Manual, please do so now, as these books tend to go on backorder around mid-July.

Your student will need to bring their textbook to EVERY class, even during the first week.

Special note on the Kaplan Coloring Book: The textbook maps directly to the 5th Edition Kaplan Coloring Book, but that 5th edition can be hard to find (eBay is sometimes a good resource). Later Kaplan editions are still usable, but students will need to carefully match the coloring assignment descriptions in the textbook to their coloring book. If you have questions about the coloring book, please call, text, or email me.

The BAHA A&P page also has important information about what students will learn and about tuition payment. The supply list is very specific, so please follow it closely. As mentioned, you will need the textbook for your student and the Solutions Manual for you.

Supply List: Collect These BEFORE August

  • Loose-leaf paper, needed in class weekly, so keep it in your folder and on hand at home.
  • A 24-pack (or larger) of colored pencils, brought to EVERY class and used at home.
  • A folder with prongs.
  • A stapler and staples, as homework must be stapled at home, decently and in order, for full credit.
  • Dependable access to the internet and a printer at home is expected.

Log In to ThinkWave Now

Both students and parents must log in to ThinkWave now to confirm you have access. Monitoring ThinkWave regularly throughout the school year will be extremely important for students and parents alike. Everyone should have received a ThinkWave invitation.

Important Upcoming Dates

Description

Tuition payment of $80 is due August 1.

This covers your last month’s tuition. Zelle and Venmo are easiest. Cash and check are also accepted; please get in touch with me directly if you prefer cash or check, and we can work out the August payment. A late fee of $10 will be assessed if tuition is not received by the 9th of each month.

Anatomy & Physiology Syllabus Email, by August 2.

This email will contain important A&P class action items for parents and students, so watch for it and follow the directions as soon as you receive it. You will refer to the syllabus at home, and we will refer to it in class; it is key to completing A&P. I will send it no later than August 2, and it will land in parent and student inboxes just like this email.

info 1  NEW Parent Orientation, August 6, 6:30 pm

Student Orientation, August 13, Friendswood. I’ll be there to meet and greet! Attendance times are by last name: 9:30 a.m. A–G · 11:00 a.m. H–O · 12:30 p.m. P–Z.

A Learning Team: Let’s Communicate

I encourage rich, abundant communication between parents, students, and me year-round. We are a learning team, and each of us has a role to execute: student, parent, and instructor. Please reach out with any questions.

There are several spots left in A&P if you have friends who have completed Biology.

Enjoy the rest of your summer! I look forward to meeting all of our new families and catching up with those returning.

Blessings,
