Middle & High School Orientation and Class Schedules

Dear Families,

We hope you’re having a wonderful summer! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we wanted to provide you with important updates regarding middle and high school class registration, locker assignments, and class schedules.

Schedules will be finalized and emailed out to all families no later than August 22. Please read through the details below to ensure everything is in order.

Class Registration & Requirements

  • Deadline for Registration: If you haven’t registered by August 15, we will place students into classes ourselves to finalize the schedule.
  • Elective Course Selections: Some students have selected the same elective twice instead of choosing a backup. If this occurs, we will assign a backup class.
  • No Repeat Courses: Students should not select the same elective classes they have previously taken (except for PE, if needed). If repeats are selected, we will assign an alternate course.

You can check your student’s class history by logging into their Thinkwave account. High school graduation requirements are also outlined in the registration form.

6th-12th Grade Bell Schedule

  • Period 1: 8:40 am – 10:00 am
  • Period 2: 10:20 am – 11:45 am
  • Lunch: 11:45 am – 12:45 pm
  • Period 3: 12:45 pm – 2:10 pm
  • Period 4: 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Locker Selection

  • Lockers: Students will be assigned lockers that are located indoors in a monitored area. They will share lockers and will be given locks by the school (no personal locks allowed).
  • Locker Policies: Only school-related items can be stored. Lockers will be randomly searched throughout the year and monitored 24/7. Students must use assigned lockers for their belongings, and backpacks are not permitted in classrooms or hallways.

Lockers will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis during Back to School Night (September 2, 5:30-6:30 pm). If you cannot attend, the administration will assign your student a locker.

Orientation & Questions

  • Back to School Night: Join us on September 2 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm for an orientation. Students can get help finding their classes and have any middle/high school-related questions answered.
  • Locker Selection: Locker assignments will take place during this event. If students cannot attend, locker assignments will be handled by administration.

Thinkwave/Grading System

Thinkwave is our online portal for grading, attendance, and communication. We encourage all families to sign up to monitor student progress and receive school updates.
  • New Students: New families will receive an invite email by the end of next week.
  • Returning Students: Log in using your existing credentials, but ensure you select the correct school year (2021-2022).

Athletics/Sports Registration

  • Girls Volleyball: Registration is open for high school girls volleyball. The season starts August 23, with the first game on September 13.
  • Boys Basketball: Registration for boys high school basketball is now open. The season begins November 15, and the registration deadline is October 1.

First Day of School

  • Grades 6-12: The first day of school for 6th-12th grade students is September 13.
  • Grades Pre-K through 5: Their first day of school is September 8.
