- Final project: The Passport continues.
- Students are finishing the project in class.
- Only 6 days left of Spanish class!
May 14–28
- Students are working on The Passport project in class.
- After completion, the teacher will review the project with them.
- Students may save their work to a flash drive or cloud (optional).
May 13
- Guest Speaker from Peru.
- No homework.
- Class time dedicated to the Passport project.
May 6, — Cuba Day 1
- Watched two resources:
- NPR: Life in the New Cuba
- YouTube: Life in Cuba
No homework.
May 2
- No homework.
- Bring "20 Questions" paper for the guest speaker by Tuesday.
- Extra Credit: Participate or volunteer in the Latin Cultures 5K/5-mile race on Saturday.
- Celebrate afterward at a local Mexican restaurant at 5 PM.
May 1
- No homework.
- Started Passport project in class; all work stays at school.

April 30–29
- No homework (but "20 Questions" due for guest speaker on April 29).
April 24–23–22 — Guest Speaker Preparation
- 4/24: Write 20 questions for guest speaker (half in Spanish, half in English) — Due 4/29.
- 4/23: Write 20 questions for guest speaker (half in Spanish, half in English).
- 4/22: Write 20 questions for guest speaker (in English).
April 11
- No homework.
- No class next week due to Testing and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
- Spanish 1 resumes on Tuesday, April 22.
April 10 — Homework:
- Create a Spanish crossword puzzle on teacherscorner.net using 20 vocabulary words from the “School” worksheet.
- Clues must be in English.
- Bring a printed puzzle and answer key.
April 9–8 — Vocabulary Practice
- 4/9: School Basics 11–20 — Practice each 10 times.
- 4/8: School Basics 1–10 — Practice each 10 times.
April 4
- Floor plans are looking great!
- No homework this weekend.
April 3–2–1 — Household Vocabulary and Floor Plan Project
- 4/3: "House Inhabitants" (Animals) — Choose 10 words, practice 5 times, write 1 sentence per word, add 5 inhabitants to your floor plan.
- 4/2: "Household Furniture" — Learn 10 furniture words, practice 5 times each, and add them to your floor plan. Bonus: Lego floor plans = extra credit!
- 4/1: "Household Basics" — Learn 10 household words. Write each word and four adjectives five times, plus a sentence for each.

MONTH: MARCH
March 21
- Fashion Show event followed by outdoor fun.
- No homework. Enjoy Spring Break!
March 20 — Homework:
- Write 8 clothing-related sentences (2 per season: one for a boy, one for a girl).
- Include a corresponding drawing or picture.
March 19
- Students write 20 clothing-related sentences for their fictional stores.
- Focus on adjectives (cheap, expensive, colors) and verbs (vestir).
- Preparing for the Friday Fashion Show!
March 18 — Homework:
- Practice "La Ropa" vocabulary five times.
- Choose a local clothing store, list clothing sold there, and give the store a Spanish name.
March 14
- No homework.
March 13
- Reflexive Verbs Packet distributed.
- Homework: Practice 5 underlined reflexive verbs five times each and write sentences on the back.
March 12
- Vocabulary: Body parts.
- Homework: Practice writing each new word five times.
March 11 — Homework:
- Practice conjugating 15 verbs five times each.
- Write each noun in a complete sentence.
March 7
- Field Trip: Local restaurant visit — practiced conversational Spanish.
- No homework this weekend.
March 6 — Homework:
- On a 3x5 index card, write phrases you want to remember for the restaurant field trip.
March 5–4 — Restaurant Spanish Preparation
- 3/5: Write the remaining restaurant phrases (6, 8–13, 20–22, 24–25, 27) five times on light blue paper.
- 3/4: Write initial restaurant phrases (1–5, 7, 14–19, 23, 26) five times.
Weekend Food Writing Assignment
- Write 5 paragraphs describing dishes using food vocabulary.
- Example: La sopa tiene pollo, las zanahorias, el ajo, y apio. La sopa es salada un poquito.

MONTH: FEBRUARY
February 28
- Salsa Event: Great job!
- Homework: "Recipe to Win" is due Tuesday, March 4.
February 27 — Recipe to Win Project
- Create a 5-course meal: Soup, Appetizer, Salad, Main Dish, Dessert.
- Include 4 types of meat, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables.
- Describe how each course should taste (e.g., sweet, rich, creamy).
- Due Tuesday, March 4.
- Salsa Party tomorrow!
February 26 — Homework:
- Write 10 sentences answering "¿Qué hay en mi casa?"
- Each sentence starts with "Hay" + a number + an item + "en mi casa."
- Example: Hay dos naranjas en mi casa.
- Absent students: Complete the "Recipe to Win" project.
